ref. 4270 is not a myth. It exists!
I even have a copy of Longines original technical card with period picture for this ref. As you probably know there is an wonderfull little illustration in a 1936 Longines catalogue of a black dialed specimen of this ref. So that makes 2 original documents. I have myself a ref. 4270.
But I have a niggling doubt about ref. 2160. All the watches of that ref. might in fact be ref. 4270 (just a thought) You will have probably noticed like me that all the ref. 2160 have a very bizzare ref. engraving on the back, quite unlike those stamped of the other refs. They seem to have been engraved as opposed to stamped. I have talked to Longines about this, and they have an interesting explanation.
