Longines 13ZN Mushroom Pusher ref. 2191
I realized there isn't much articles and coverage on these illusive legends. I am not attempting to do one, but perhaps some appreciative photo journal on a recent acquisition.
The best part of the watch is actually the case, no, dial, no, pushers (mushroom or umbrella, whatever), eh, actually, there isn't any part of the watch that I didn't love. This massive beast is powered by the legendary 13zn, one of the best chronograph movement ever designed and built.
There are a total of 4 references for this illusive mushroom pusher 13zn; 2191, 2010, 2160 & 2352. There are rumours on 4270 & 2475, but I have yet to see them. Interestingly mine, ref. 2191, seems to be the only piece (correct me if I am wrong) with an oversized case back, dwarfing the mid case. Quite an interesting feature that most collectors didn't mention. Needless to say, the enormous step case bezel is a big love for serious collectors.
The dial is a 2 tone, with the center part either darkening or lightening depending on the angle of the light. The 3 colored dial is by far my favourite and I am fortunate enough to be the custodian of this watch.
This particular piece is delivered to Argentina in 1939.
Enough of words, to the photos.
