Horological Meandering

My wife owns both

A WG Breguet Reine de Naples with moon phase and Patek Calatrava 5897G.

In fact my wife Darja should comment this but she is sleeping late like always so I'm trying to help:

- Breguet is automatic while Patek is a manual winding watch. The result is that Breguet is a much thicker watch than Patek. How is the wrist of the new owner - can she take a (very) thick watch?
- If you look through the exhibition back, the movement of Patek is finished in a finer way. How important is this?
- Is the every day winding experience a problem or a joy?

According to my experience the service of Patek is better organized than the same of Breguet. Also the brand image of Patek is probably higher.  At the same time the design of Reine de Naples is much more unique than the same of Calatrava.

I made a list of "must" watches for my wife. In that list there was JLC Reverso, Breguet Reine de Naples, Patek Calatrava,  Gondolo  & Golden Ellipse, Rolex Yacht Master and a nice chronograph. As per today she has all those less the chronograph. The dearest ones are Calatrava and Reine de Naples. You have a very difficult choice ahead of you!

Best, Kari
