I have owned my fair share of Italian sports and hyper cars but I also purchased the original NSX a few years after it's initial release as I have a friend who worked for Team Honda Racing that modified the NSX for me. It outperformed ALL of my Italian sports cars of the time and was much more practical to drive daily as well. It still is one of my favorite sports cars of all time for what it represented.
As for watches, I have tried to be open-minded about purchasing watches I like, not just for name recognition nor hype. I agree with what Nico stated about the Montblanc 1858 and JLC Duometre Chronograph as those 2 represent 2 of the finest high-end chronographs available from any manufacturer.
What it really comes down to is ones preference and what one values more, the watch itself (for it's own merits) or the brand caché (history, brand value, etc...) 🤷♂️
