I've checked out the history - the watch is from 1950
My pal and I were born in the same month in the summer of 1951.
His family was leaving Russia under duress, and stopped enroute briefly in Germany for him to be born, and to "convert" some of their possessions into cash or easily-carried goods. One of the goods was this watch. They had intended to go to South America but enticed by reports of life in California, ended up in Glendale (Los Angeles area).
My family was traveling from Iowa to San Diego, and stopped enroute briefly at Oakland Naval Hospital for me to be born, and a day or two later we ended up at Miramar Air Base (famous from the "Top Gun" school and movie) for my dad to finish up some flight training.
After scanning about 500 images, I found this Polish Internet ad for a 1950 Tissot Antimagnetique - looks just like the one on my desk:

That Tissot looks really great and with those lugs.
And it looks quite old because it lacks a shock absorber at the balance jewel. Remarkable condition - very wearable.
