Horological Meandering

I think it comes from the French language that dominates the luxury scene

The word "authentic" is used in French as an adjective indicating "really good" rather than "genuine".

I found this is a trend also from the jewellery and watch copywriters in recent press releases.
The sexy words for every luxury product launch are "authentic", "new" and "luxurious".

As horology editor, I usually delete or substiture those descriptive words to more "authentic" and justifiable ones. wink
As this is a car copywriter's output, I left it alone; what do I know?

Regards,
MTF
