Alkiro,
I don't like huge watches either but as a moderator, I have to interject.
Aside from logistics and functional reasons for watch sizes, the size of watches have gone up and down through history as expressions of both technology and fashion.
Initially, they were clocks because nobody could do micro engineering.
Then, large pocket watches was the zenith of the art.
As technology improved, extra-plat pocket watches became the goal.
When we moved to wrist watches, there was a race to make the smallest thinnest watches to demonstrate mastery of watchmaking e.g. world's thinnest watch / chronograph / perpetual calendar / minute repeater etc.
Various world wars and austerity required less materials to be applied on watches so they remained small.
Then, global prosperity and fashion dictated bigger watches / shoulder pads / hairstyle / breasts / cars / attitudes. We all had " Loadsa Money!"
Recent geopolitical conflicts and austerity have again driven sizes and attitudes down.
Thus, it is likely watch sizes, like my bell bottom trousers and platform shoes, will cycle into fashion again.

MTF
