Horological Meandering

I mostly buy new

but in case a specific watch I want is available only in 2nd hand, then papers are mandatory. Furthermore, I add the complexity of finding the right watch by buying watches only with "open" papers. Finally, if I boy a 2nd hand watch, it goes directly to the manufacturer's service. That a way for me to know that everything is right and correct.
There was a case when the watch looked correct but inside a self-taught surgeon had made his "repairs and service".
Boxes are another thing. If the boxes are available from the AD, then it's not important.
Best, Kari
