I asked the watchmaker at the nearby Omega boutique a related question regarding a vintage Omega I have with no hack feature. Is it ok to hold the second hand with counter pressure

on the crown. At least on this particular movement he said its ok but if you use enough counter pressure to make the second hand move backwards you will "splash" lube into areas it shouldn't reside in.
Another thought of mine is that my intuition tells me that if the movement has no inherent power (wind) it probably makes little difference... as long as you are no where near midnight. Open to critiques on
my theories.

I always adjust my watch which ever the most convenient. I hope I have not ruin my FPJs.. I admit I didn’t read the manual because I own simple time only function. I will take note from now onwards. Thanks Nico for the tip. 🥂 jen

when it stops, never sure if it's AM or PM on the dial so by convention I do the following... advance until the date changes, stop at 6:00 AM, quick set the date-day of week to yesterday, set the relative GMT time, then advance to the current date & time....
