Generally, I agree with you, Tim ...
... however, before a watch manufacturer, or brand, can prove its steadiness in value and service, it has to be "new" for a time. You cannot generally dismiss a 20 years old job applicant for lack of experience, if you are searching a "fresh spirit".
Clerc watches are such a "fresh spirit", as far as I can see it. And as such they should be seen and respected. Let the future show if their claims come true.

I can't seem to find any Clerc watch from the 19th or 20th Century which strikes me as rather odd given their claimed founding date. I remember seeing Clerc watches appear I guess in the early 2000's. Would love to put the record straight as their website...

I did find some small pictures on their website that seem to lend credence to their claim, including a storefront sign, C.Clerc and some pictures of watches that look like they were from the 1970's. Thanks, Dean
