Fair question, which deserves . . .
Aug 30, 2019,05:48 AM
. . . an answer. The primary reason for requesting disclosure is to verify content is noncommercial in nature. A fundamental principle of this site is that the forums should be free of promotion, overt or covert. Friends would not engage in conversation with ulterior motives. And one the roles of a moderator is to ensure probity prevails.
I asked because it seemed odd a new member would be creating threads about an obscure manufacturer, replete with multiple images. One instance could be put down to honest curiosity. The second raised my curiosity. And, apparently, the curiosity of an established community member. That's why I posed the question to our original poster: potential for the perception, mistaken or otherwise, of a thread created with intent to promote a commercial interest could be taken as contrary to the ethos of this site. Glad to say our OP passed the challenge with flying colors.
As for your suggestion concerning prior instances where established members of the community were involved with commercial projects being hypocritical: you have a point. And well taken.
Devil's counter: do you remember what Jefferson had to say about consistency?
All I can say about your first example is that I was the last person in the world to know. As for the second, I'm learning just now from you.

Some AtelierMillesime Merveilleux pictures, I love how the dial shines in the light, the overall fit and finish, it's one of those watches you keep glancing at with out realising your doing it ...

Hi Art, I'm not compensated in any shape or form, I got asked the same question when I brought my MaisonCeladon Yue Fei, because my other post was oh I like this other post, I originally brought the Yue Fei then a picture of another watch came up whilst I...
Very welcome Art

Very welcome Art, I will do thank you, although I have no plans at the moment to buy anymore watches for a while, as my wife found out how much I spent, ππ
Why are people picking on this guy?

And what's bad about Benjamin Chee? He makes watches, which we celebrate here. Nobody was up in arms when Ming got all kinds of promotion on this Forum. And nobody gets upset with Henrik for championing Hentschel. (And I'm not saying anybody should!)

By: Simon_Ford : August 30th, 2019-06:11
I understand, but to be called a shill on my first posting, I didn't know what that even was, I asked and was met with more scepticism, as for saying an established member spotted it, thats all well and good, but surely I can't be held responsible for the...

What Iβd say is if I heard of Benjamin Chee then heβs not an obscure producer. That doesnβt mean everyone has heard of him or his brands. And I do understand that Ming and Hentschel were boosted by long-time members. But this guy Ford has been attacked qu...
