General statement: You become good at something with either practice or effort.
So, brands like Rolex that make 700,000 chronometers a year get good at it.
Or watchmakers that invest more time (sic) and effort in adjustments get the same results.
Remember the 1960s when a small Japanese maker beat the entire Swiss watchmaking community at Observatory Chronometer Contests until they were "dis-invited" from further participation? Then they started the "quartz revolution" and nearly killed the Swiss industry 😜
My St Gallen All Black Rescue Purists edition came out of the box with chronometer specification because it used an ETA movement straight from factory.

It seems to me that in recent times in house movements are reportedly more accurate and reliable than the ETAs. This made be very true but I have watches with movements of 2824, 2892 -2 and 7750 that are spot on and running perfectly even tho they are 15 ...
