ETA
It seems to me that in recent times in house movements are reportedly more accurate and reliable than the ETAs. This made be very true but I have watches with movements of 2824, 2892 -2 and 7750 that are spot on and running perfectly even tho they are 15 years old. They may not look as nice or have the finish of certain in house movements but they are the work horses. I realize that everyone has different views on various movements and manufacturers but in the end performance counts. Just my thoughts of course.
No one doubts ETA’s quality.
But I guess there is a stigma when high end brands use them.
In terms of accuracy ...
... it is very difficult to make a plain statement like this. Generally, nearly every series produced watch mvoement can be built and regulated to excellent (chronometry) values, or spoilt with bad accuracy performance. This is not connected to the manufacturer.
Additionally, the individual watch specimen can show bad accuracy due to circumstances not in the scope of influence of the manufacturer.
Having said that, I have no indication whatever that inhouse movements are generally more or less accurate than mass-produced ETA calibers.
If I would like to issue generalizations, based on my own experience then the following:
The older ETA generation (2824, 2892, 7750 and all their derivates) can be regulated to excellent values, but this needs an additional effort. The more recent ETA movements, even the inexpensive ones, like the Powermatic 80, appear to achieve excellent values already from the very beginning, in various non-chronometer watches. Consequently, the common ETAchron regulation device has been replaced here and it means more effort to individually regulate these movements.
Regarding the accuracy performance of various inhouse movements, it appears to depend on how important accuracy is for the manfacturer. Seiko, for example, seems to have no interest whatever in offering well regulated watches even in the medium price segment (Marinemaster, for example) and limits chronometer-like performance to the Grand Seiko sub-label. Omega, on the other hand, invests a lot of effort into first rate accuracy, and I have yet to find a modern Omega that does not show really excellent accuracy. The others are placed somewhat within these positions.

While I am on a rant today the cost of stainless steel watches from PP, VC, AP and a few others reaching $30,000 and above is just insane in my opinion. I realize the so called hand made and hand finished story line but who is kidding who. The prevailing theory is what the market will bear at any cost is just ludicrous. So my friends enjoy your watches and have a great day.
I have 2 ball watches using eta movements.
They are accurate but the power reserve is less around 35 hours max , base on my experience. Luxury brands use there own movements. Or they modify an eta movement to conform to their quality.
Definitely enjoy what is straped on your wrist.

General statement: You become good at something with either practice or effort.
So, brands like Rolex that make 700,000 chronometers a year get good at it.
Or watchmakers that invest more time (sic) and effort in adjustments get the same results.
Remember the 1960s when a small Japanese maker beat the entire Swiss watchmaking community at Observatory Chronometer Contests until they were "dis-invited" from further participation? Then they started the "quartz revolution" and nearly killed the Swiss industry 😜
My St Gallen All Black Rescue Purists edition came out of the box with chronometer specification because it used an ETA movement straight from factory.
