in the sense that his designs are completely his own. Unique. Groundbreaking, maybe.
To me, 'iconic' would refer to long-established classic design that has had huge influence thoughout the watch market/world... (if a movie star, Marilyn Monroe. If a car, Porsche Carrera) so while I personally do not view RM as iconic (because it is too new still), it could be argued that RM still is--in the sense of creating a new design that stands as an icon of the ultra modern... but again, I see your confusion...

Casio G-Shock
As much as I agree with a large number of choices--especially the list with the OP--we cannot deny the Casio G-Shock its rightful place in the Top 10. It is perhaps THE watch that nourished our desire for large cases.....

Your list is probably the most "faithful" to what you were trying to say about iconic designs as some may have confused iconic for, say, iconoclastic where the latter is more about going against the grain... where it may be on its way to being a classic.....
