howdy folks, today I "celebrate" 5 years of my existence on Ppro. I thought it would be a good idea to see in relative terms, what i bought in 2007 versus 2012. I do not generally "recycle" my watches, and I hang on to good and some bad buys 90% of the ti...

in many ways< I havent changed...still buying Indies, almost same Langes, swap AP ROOs ltd eds for Hublot ones, still buy Omega Speedies from the 60/70s with cal 861s, PAMs after PAMs, from RM010 to RM035...sigh, actually, only difference is my distast... 

... and can't help wondering what triggered the evolution. I can understand going from the shaq to the hublot. Its simply an evolve version in every way : Hublot has more limited edition, more daring design, more tech ( strap, etc... ) Its all more. Lange... 

I went opposite direction from you...I sold most of my Pateks, and now have only 3 left in my collection. swapping AP ROOs Ltd Eds for Hublot Ltd Eds arent exactly eveolvin!!1but at least Hublot is improving the quality of their calibers abd casework, and... 

All these LE's killed AP hublot and RM jst to name those that over abused it. When i mentioned that your hublot was an evolution its comparing it to the shaq. I had almost all brands, mostly lange rolex ap rm iwc panerai and a couple jlc's. Ditched them a... 

I need variety. I also find it difficult to accept buying watches based on a single criteria, meaning, I believe sometimes we buy for the aesthetics, sometimes for the movement, sometimes for the brand, sometimes for ego, sometimes for peers, sometimes un... 

... that with time, i will learn with my mistakes and buy for good reasons. I also hope i won't make the same mistake. But what i meant, is that once you will get all the watches you hunted, the feeling of possession, of collecting, will be less important... 

Suffered by a good mate who hardly logs in here anymore. The honest truth is as collectors, we probably go thru cycles, which are governed, in my case by, state of mind and state of money!! Was there anything in specific that "triggered" that horofatigue ... 

Cycles are often connected to money. But whatever, what matters is the flame that keeps on moving you forward. Still i'm astonished that you keep almost everything you buy. Basically, you better think very well before triggering. Its a pressure you put on...

I guess that it depends on the definition of eclectic. I am more of a classic person, in regard to design for example, I am not an Uhrwerk guy for example and not really a MBF either although I admit I love your Tourbillon. I am not really into minute rep... 

will pm you thats a fantastic collection you have there, and we share several similar watches!! I am a really "greedy" collector, with no qualms wearing anything from 26 to 60 mm watches, from traditional brands to funky Indie, from simple three hands to ...

...not to mention that there are several pieces in that collection (the LF, the RM 035, and the Dato Perp come immediately to mind) that when you finally decide to adopt me will be high on my inheritance list! Many congrats on the 6000 -- always a delight... 

I am grateful for the friendship you have shown, and enjoy the exchanges we had. reference adoption, you do realize you will also inherit my insurmountable amount of debt that financed the above mentioned watches!! I would love to see your class of 2007 v...

the sub dials would be too hard for me to read, I do like the Lange perpetual. But your Omegas... ooohhh lala. There's something about designs from eras gone by that I love and though re-issues are made, there's nothing like the real thing...well, almost....

I'm not on Pp since long but I'm really sticking to it now because of all of you guys I discuss with and share my passion with. We share many tastes (at least concerning watches :p), I have an Omega Mark IV, a RM035, I love Indies, Lange, I can mix old/ne... 

We do have quite a few watches in common!! I am grateful for your virtual friendship and sharing. have you ever wondered why we collect the way we collect, instead of the usual and constant fare of Pateks and Rolexs? best, Horo

.... and this is maybe why it is so difficult sometime to be sure of our own choice and to be sure not to make any mistake at least once in our collection. It is difficult to understand and recognize out there what meet our feelings and spiritual needs. I... 

Many times I see and admire creation collectors...vintage, Patek, chronographs, Panerai, Indie etc etc...but I truly believe that having the ability to love all forms and crafts of horology is something to be treasured and enjoying a vintage sports rolex ...

Firstly, thanks very much for the congrats. Reference the hourglass....it's a 10minute hourglass, not I am seriously tempted to acquire it's bigger cousin fir the full hour! Took me about three turns to write this up and taking and downloading the crappy ... 

I won't be doing another one of those this year, it's too traumatic to pull everything out and line it up. Though I am probably down 25-30 watches since that report (and up 10 more) Cheers! Cazalea

Thats a very small selection you've shown there and quite rightly too. Dont want to give things away on tje internet. It hardly feels like 5 years since you bounded on stage with your very ecclectic selection of timepieces, but thats a good thing. It show...
