Budget List
I think a much more interesting exercise would be to construct a "Top 5"
list with an upper limit of, say, $20,000. This would be, arguably, a
more practical and useful way to explore our horological options (for
most of us, anyway). Here's mine (prices conservatively rounded up to be
fair):
The Daily Wearer: Rolex 1601 or 1600 w/ black dial (<$2500)
The Weekend Watch: something from the Sinn catalog under $2000 used or new
The Travel Watch: Rolex 1675 (<$5000 used)
The Horological Masterpiece: Ochs und Junior Annual Calendar ($8500 new)
The Dress Watch: Nomos Orion Weiss (<$2000 new)
