Al, while I can fully see why

why you feel the way you do, I would ask you and others not to pursue this further... why?

1.  This whole thing will be forgotten soon enough by those not petty enough to fight for perceived cyber turf..

2.  Everyone here apart from the owners are guests and the owners can do as they choose (whether with or without repurcussions is another topic) as it is their house.  You (as a figure of speach so not YOU per se) like it you stay, don;t like it go and that is the "power" guests have.  So guests on their own have a large say in whether this (again not THIS site per se) is a popular house or not.

3.  There must be 2 sides to every coin and if both sides are the same then we know what to think already and I think it is futile for the greater good than the owners and Journe have public battle here.

4.  Sponsorship is fine by me.  If there are sponsorship requirements, just come clean. There are expenses to be paid I would imagine, server, etc and I should not think people make a living from sponsorships here(rhetorical, I really don't care)?  And why shoudl brands benefit from free publicity?  The flip side of course is, is too much charged?  None of my business and I really don;t give a rat's ass about it.  Market forces will decide if a sponsor pays or not and if this or any site closes a forum just becuase no money is paid, then it will affect the attractiveness of the forum to some inevitably and if too many forums are closed, then the forum eventually closes itself.  Which begs the next question, are all brands charged equally or some brands not (rhetorical again) and if so.. hey that;s life.. some need it more than others and market forces decide.  Will it affect independence, yes, anything is as independent as it is dependent and when you take money, you owe something.. nothing is for free..but that is not to say good information is not possible with sponsorship justthat some things cannot be said.. no biggy to me.

5.  Cyber turf dude and like I said, before too long, all this will be forgotten and the fuss laughed at... if not... gotta get a life..
