A better question: Who are you and why would you care about these rankings?
Popularity rankings are only one limited measure of the value of a site to “advertisers” but they mean nothing to users.
Since you (under this handle) don’t seem to have been here before, why would you start with a series of statistics - is your purpose undermining our community? from Finland? Seems unusual...
A better question is whether
1) static pages run by a professional team concerned with SEO and Page Rankings
produces a better experience for watch enthusiasts than
2) a dynamic forum with unlimited threads created by members and volunteers
I suggest you look at the number of recent first-time posters saying “I’ve been lurking for years and now I got up the courage to join; this is the best site ever; etc etc”
Maybe having more than X-thousand visitors makes the site too big and 200,000 or so is optimal?

What cause watch forum to be popular or not?
I see trafic collapse in last 3 month. Why some forums popular and others not. From 180,000 to 265,000 is collapse. What cause? ...

It would be more informative to view the trend over a full 12 months, or even multiple yearly periods.
My guess is seasonal as well. Also the Basel expo was about three months ago.

July ‘17 was at about 260K....trended up from there, then back down to 260K at July ‘18....then presumably up from there per the first chart you posted, then back down to 260K near July ‘19. Seems like it denies, not confirms your thesis here.
Well this forum is technically outdated and we people here are less mainstream and more interested in high horology...
... which is pretty much a niche in this industry.
Of all the forums I read / participate in I like the format here the best.
Are there examples of what people believe to be better forums technically? I’m curious as to which these are.
Actually I don't participate in any english speaking forum with modern software, so I can't help you out.
But I can tell you that I find XenForo 2 superior to most other software in use. It's just minor but I appreciate it.
Just looked it up, it seems the layout is similar to another forum I frequent (but which may be based on software which XenForo improved upon).
I do very much like the picture driven layout here for threads.
For me this forum is fine as well and at least we get notifications and don't have to look out for possible responses.
But I think we should not underestimate this aspect, especially for the youth like me. Maybe they could add some emoticons so we can express our emotions even stronger...
