Sports with a sports watch

I have een looking for a luxury sports watch for quite a while now and I can not seem to make up my mind (the AP RO was one of my first choices though). Also because a number od ADs actually told me that actually none of these high end watches are suited to swim, golf, run, ...
So I wanted to know swhether wou actually use those watches to do sports and if yes if wou have ever encountered issues with it?
