Looks good!

but perhaps too good.
Hello W154,
Originality is key, to me. These old watches have hard lives and the 'factory fresh' look does not sit easily with me. But, each to his own and I don't have a problem with that.
Kind regards,

A nice IWC military watch: the WWW, from the dirty dozen.
By: amanico : January 27th, 2019-14:31
So called the dirty Dozen, because 12 brands issued watches for the British Army just after the second World War. IWC is part of them, as well as Omega, Record, Cyma, Grana ( the toughest to find ), Jaeger-Lecoultre, Longines to quote some of them. 35 mm ...

Yes the dial in the original post is fantastic and entirely original
By: W154 : January 27th, 2019-23:45
Looking back maybe it wasn’t clear what I wrote. It was pretty early in the morning after all ! The other three dials above are also original, but only the left one retains its original radium lume. The other two are relumed, with the middle one being a c...
They’re fantastic watches packed full of character.

But it can be a minefield to find all original examples in good condition. The example you show is beautiful but an original balance cock should be engraved F/S, and I think this one says A/R which would mean it’s been replaced at some point. As a realist...
IWC WWW, it can be a minefield

(no pun intended) as stated by W154. Here are a couple of photographs of my IWC WWW which is supposed to be a good, original example. They show the correct 'F' and 'S' engraved on the balance cock. It also has the original crystal which has crazed over th...

Just to add another reference point to the thread, if you have an example that you feel is too far gone and send it back to Schaffhausen for a full refurbishment, then you’ll get back something like this (which was done in 2015). I’ve seen pictures of how...

I don’t imagine any original IWC WWWs look like this in the dark. ...
This is nice :-)

Regret not buying. You should pick up a Cyma. It’s 38mm and sits very nicely on the wrist
IWC calibre 83 'INCA'
By: kjkt3 : January 29th, 2019-01:03
Wearing the Breguet Type XX too often, yesterday I put on the 18kt IWC calibre 83 (with 'INCA' printed on the seconds sub-dial). Sold on 18 December 1945 in Stockholm - obviously, I have the extract from the IWC archives - I like to think that it was boug...
