I agree with you on the new Nomos

Apr 07, 2014,17:56 PM

I received an email from the US distributor and took no more 5 minutes to decide to put down the deposit.    I hope to have it within 2 months.

A few hours later I decided to see whether anyone who attended Basel had an opinion, and imagine my happiness that you, whose judgment I trust completely, had recommended it.

I hope things are going well with you.   I have retired from paid work to play cards with my husband, and other games with my 3 grandchildren and 2 cats.

Regards,

Ginger

So what are YOUR Basel favorites?

 By: AndrewD : April 3rd, 2014-03:55
As the dust starts to settle, what has caught your eye from BaselWorld this year? While we have to work from press releases and impressions from our 'reporters' at the fair, there are a few standouts for me: L.U.C. Qualit Fleurier, the essence of Chopard...

Andrew....for me:

 By: Baron - Mr Red : April 3rd, 2014-04:13
1) Omega SM300....just a winner of a watch. 2) Rolex GMT..... yes, it has a drawback in priciness that is a shame, but against that a GMT on white gold is special. The bezel makes this watch a fabulous tribute to the past GMT glories. 3) Rolex Sea-Dweller...

+1 here for all three choices but the WG of the GMT intimidates me

 By: Ruckdee : April 3rd, 2014-04:44
As a fan of Omega, I welcome quite wholeheartedly the Seamaster 300. The Rolex SD is superb from the pics. Surely I will like it more than the Deepsea even though that may just be a personal preference. I am very surprised to click on the first response a...

I must have missed the occasion without your help.

It was a great Basel fair to me this year

Very interesting and appealing watches from many brands. But I would select: The best novelty for me technically and aethetically (but of course I'm biased here...). Usually difficult to find a very different spirit in the movement of a chrono, here it is...

Chopard

I like many. Yes the Chopard, that just dicover now, the Omega SM 300 although I am not sure about these fake aged lumes, and Rolex GMT but is it enough to have a red bezel, all nice retro broad-church type of watche. I can see that GP is trying hard but...

I think the word favorite to me is something I can afford.

 By: 中野れい : April 3rd, 2014-05:31
(Though may not be the case for all). I like Rolex Sea-dweller 116600 and Linde Werdelin Oktopus MoonLite :) Many are tempting as well but I'll pick those 2.

The two that I bought - sight unseen

or without even being there: in chronological order - the Sarpaneva Korona Kosmos, the Grönefeld 1912 Parallax Tourbillon in stainless steel and that does it for me! amerix This message has been edited by amerix on 2014-04-03 06:32:28

Well done with those two!

Having handled them both, you will not be disappointed! Cheers, Tim

Omega SM 300 for me....

 By: Darren : April 3rd, 2014-07:36
This one works on all levels in my view - can't wait to see one in the metal when they are finally released. Other than that, the Chopard LUC is beautiful and the KV, per usual, is a masterpiece. Darren

Definitely the Rolex GMT Pepsi ceramic

But the KV is interesting. Any views of the movement? thanks

For PuristS reasons this is the Watch of Baselworld 2014

Thanks for your comments I agree that the Cellini is an attractive Rolex alternative, but I like the Dark Side more than the Bright Side of the Moon. Can I ask which of the 1963 LUC Chronographs you prefer - the gold with white dial or the steel with blac...

“Our L.U.C hands are nearly always designed to go with the case colour – here they are rhodium-plated to match the polished steel bezel and, as in all 1963 pieces, they are not Super-LumiNova-filled – the main goal with this collection is an elegant, prec...
