How to ship a watch in EU as a private person?
Hi all
I’m considering to sell one or two of my watches to get funds to a new one. There are several places where you can sell watches as a private person but how to ship the watch to the buyer? I have called UPS, Fedex, DHL and the local Post but they all refuse to ship watches or anything made of precious metals. It is not a question of the insurance but a total refusal for shipping watches. This seems to apply to private persons in all EU. Do you have any hints how to ship a watch, within EU or outside from EU?

Many traditional post services offer tracking services
but I prefer not to think about what happens in case of loss. The value covered can be capped indeed. Depending on the value of the watch, my experience is that a short trip in person can be worth it.
Very tricky
Speaking now of US to EU: I have shipped a couple - one was lost for 5 months then showed up in a crushed box on the buyer's doorstep in Germany AFTER we had already chased down some partial insurance and split the reimbursement (and the loss!) between us...
But not on August 😅😅😅
A friend is struggling to get his watch which is 350 far . Yesterday they didn't bring the sealed envelope, today nearly the same issue...😬😬😬😬

It sounds barely impossible that they do not ship. You pay for the value and that's it. Flawless. I had a talk with a FedEx guy, he told me that they want to know and see what's inside, for the expansive items. No insurance cheating between the parts You ...
I have shipped last month with Fedex..
no problem with watches they also offer insurance..
