"Regrets I have a few" ....

Sep 18, 2022,12:35 PM

...when looking back at some of the watches that I had in my collection and that had to leave, mainly to help funding other pieces.

But then there is only a handful that I really wish I would still own and be able to wear:

The Breguet 7337 : a classical Breguet in the good sense of the term!

The VC Traditionelle Chronograph in bi-color : sublime elegance

The GO Senator Rattrapante in PT : maybe the best watch ever done by GO ?

The Blancpain Villeret Complete Calendar in PT with the sublime black enamel dial

The ALS Richard Lange : German elegance at its best

And finally the Chopard LUC Twist in white gold which I liked for its unconvential dial and the beautiful 1.96 movement

Do you also have regrets for some watches that left your collection ... for whatever reason?

Best,
Gerard

I sold every single watch I owned about 2 years ago to start from scratch again. Never looked back and regretted it so far. Crossing my fingers!

That was a brave move!

I changed my collection gradually over many years but now I am feeling fine with what I have.

Well, my collection was not that big then but I kept flipping watches every 6 months because I got tired of everyone I bought…

When we make decisions, we have our reasons. Regret requires hindsight. ...But that Chopard ❤️!

The Chopard is killer...

. . . Frank. Fortunately, the two departures that left lingering regrets went to friends, so I still get to see them occasionally. Both . . . . . . were Mk II racing Speedmasters. Art ...

Those are some solid regrets!

I'll share a few too. I let this very special 1815 Automatik go wayyyy too easily: Here's another one that, like the Lange above, I bought and then flipped relatively quickly such that I wish I'd given its ownership a little more care: I don't spend TOO m...

Wow,these are some great watches that you let go.

In the same league as a Lange Dato or JLC Duometre. Unfortunately I lost a lot of my pictures some years ago during a computer issue (prior to the cloud services we have now) and the one picture in this post is the only one I still have.
