Girard Perregaux

Very hard to compare based on case diameter

As I find it means next to nothing in terms of how a watch wears. There is already a 40 mm laureato Chronograph and I don’t think that the 1 mm extra of the laureato 81000 is going to make a big difference.

I also hope that folks start to understand fundamentals of watch design that rotate around proportions and not just one dimension (case diameter) that seems to be the end-all for some.

I’m doing well thanks.

Good to hear you are settled and happy (again) 😊

I think most will be happy. My biggest hope for the 50th is that it spurs collectors to look at the neo vintage laureatos. Right now, I see an imbalance of focus on looks and not so much on the historical substance and provenance of certain models. I find it all a bit disconcerting to be quite honest. This has not happened with AP and PP. There is great respect for the RO 5402 and the Nautilus 3700. For VC, there used to be a lack of appreciation of the original 222. It was only with the historiques 222 launch did folks wake up to the original and uber rare 222 from 1977.

I hope the same happens for the laureato 8010, 8017 and 81000. All three can be identified by their polished bezels and white date windows.

Let’s see …
