Girard Perregaux

Thanks 🙏 yes agree, 1 mm is

Massive when in the watch world. But the reality is that case diameter alone is a poor indicator of how a watch will wear. The new VC 222 jumbo is 37 mm for example.

I understand your thoughts on the 42 mm. Interestingly, as a purist, the more distinctive Date wheel and the less obvious GP logo are the reasons I favor the 41 mm. Also of course because of it being only 225 pieces made vs the 42 mm that can be found very easily.

Variety makes life interesting indeed.

In my years of collecting, I’ve come to favour less mainstream pieces for various brands. AP for example I like my 15300’and my 38 mm offshore 25807ST over the modern day pieces. Provenance over looks and a little quirky or “special” makes me feel more bonded to what on my wrist being “mine”. Probably why I like the 000/225 more than I would a a more “normal” number too 😃

Anything that makes the watch less likely to have a clone in the same room makes me smile. Probably the reason I’ve never bought a Rolex. Just too main steam for my tastes.

Thanks for reading. ☀️
