Thanks for the kind expression of interest. I am a broad collector that pairs purchases with travel. While I have collected many brands over the years I focus today on PP and vintage Rolex. BUT .... for my one GP. I tried it on in HK, and loved it. Purchased it from an AD in So Cal two years ago and find it a perfect and trusty daily wear. I see its design shortfalls mentioned here before like calibre size compared to case, but I like it for what it offers. It's a great automatic Chrono. I own a PP5980-1A and find this GP just as classic and versatile. But with clear design alternatives. I own manual Chrono's for what they offer as well like the feel of winding their movement. But hey, an automatic is great for active travel and busy a schedule. It's practical when I need style and convenience.
I do have one pet peeve. I like to order custom straps and this watch is not strap friendly. I picked up a GP Tang buckle to allow me to swap straps easily and today tried to put on an unused PP brown strap (see photo). I can't say it was easy - in fact far from it!!! I will have to shoot an email Nadege in FL to see if original GP straps come in other colors. Or buy extra curved pins - Cheers all!
