Laureato 8010
I’m happy to see the historically important pieces from GP getting recognition.
This gold laureato 8010 closed at a decent price, especially white the watch market being quite soft now.
The all steel laureato 8010 the week prior seemed to have no bids. But Christie’s said that it was indeed sold in a pre-sales agreement for 12,800 CHF after buyer premium. But they won’t update their website to say so.
As the laureato has made some significant traction with collectors over the last year, the focus will now turn towards the history significant pieces that were the precursors to the production models. Very similar yo the AP 5402, 15202, 15300 etc etc.
This post is not about prices. It’s about the the knowledge and recognition levels of collectors increasing.
As more collectors start to want to find unique pieces with low production numbers, items to pass to their kids, they will start to look deeper into the brand history.
And it’s fantastic to see as this is what collecting is all about to me.

These neo vintage pieces are still a steal at these prices. Some folks(mostly the newer collectors I notice) are only used to buying what they have on shelf at their ADs. They could be getting much more rare and iconic pieces if they were to only look on ...
