Hi all,
I am new to Girard and just wanted to say hi. I just went out and bought an EVO MOON today, black dial. It came in to our AD here in Denver yesterday and my daughter has dance by the store. I went in to pass some time while my daughter dances, and went to a place a usually do not go: The Girard area. My eyes went right for it; they had a white and black version. After an hour of back and forth, I went for the black, though I must admit this is one of the few watches you can buy both versions and have two different watches!!!! All I can say is wow. I rarely throw out AD money, usually go grey market ( sorry, but I also buy my cars on internet too).) But this watch just spoke to me and well... you know how much later and I am now enjoying it.
Questions for those in the know: Can I wear this everyday. It seems like it is pretty durable but it is also a major watch--122 years for the moon, power reserve, sapphire disks, etc. How is GP on service. IF I ever really baged it up, could I buy a new case, a bracelet, etc. Oh and by the by, the bracelet is very had to adjust. The AD did it for me, but even they had a hard time with the two side screws, as they do not conform to the old... righty tighty lefty loosy.
Also, I have a pretty low number , in the 100's. The AD told me maybe around 500 per year will be made and that may even be a high number. He also said these were the firt two they received, even though they stock about 3/4 of their watches and sell them quit well ( he even had two three bridges there and said he got them before the EVO MOON!). He said the the watch is very expensive to make, lots of R&D, and the movement very expensive, according to him, and he said it will no doubt go way up in price in the next few years, as the profit margin for them is low. I am not sure if he was giving me lines ( like I said I do the internet for sales), but I just wanted to know if you all thought this to be true.
Anyhow, great watch and just wanted to say hi and get your advice on wearability and such...
with warm regards
JM
