G'day,
to me you did well; it´s a finely made watch with an unique combination of complications, of which all and the movement are propietory developments and creations of Girard-Perregaux. This alone qualifies it as a very special piece and it´s not easy to find a comparable watch (not to speak of finding a comparable manufacture-made watch for that money).
In fact there aren´t many Evo Moon´s around; GP isn´t comfortable in sharing exact figures, but all signs indicate the annual production to be less than 500. I´d be surprised if there are 500 units out there and in all regions particularly the black dial version is very sought after, with demand being higher than supply and collectors awaiting deliveries.
It´s a great watch and well equipped to withstand daily wear. One should keep in mind NO mechanical timepiece to be as tough as a G-Shock by nature, due to the fact it needs extremely small parts to make it work. Because of this, high impact forces can cause damages, but that´s inevitable for all mechanical watches to some degree.
Other than that, it´s made to be worn and i´m sure it will serve you well. GP maintains a world-wide service network with a service department in the US as well, therefore no worries for the future!
Congratulations again, on your fine Evo Moon!
Cheers,
Peter
