41 mm Laureato that many have not heard about

Some pics from the car today … on the wrist is the GP 41 mm Laureato 225th anniversary that was released in 2016. Ref 81000

It’s an interesting one for me as it was the piece that started the current generation 5 of the laureato. 225 pieces made as a SIHH novelty.

Size-wise … it is is the same thickness as the 38 mm (10.1 mm) with the same dial size (31 mm) of the 42 mm model (that would come in the future). So it’s somewhat in the middle of the 38 mm and the 42 mm. Thinner and smaller than the 42 mm, the difference it can be felt when worn.

The 42 mm and the 38 mm came in the year after in 2017 and such.

Naturally, as it had only 225 pieces made, it is seen less often. Many do not even know if it’s existence.

Something to consider from the secondary market if folks are looking for something different from the more commonly seen current production 42 mm.
