Exactly 💯
I have been telling the collectors in my GP FB group the same thing. The mind’s eye gets used to a certain size and when trying on a 38 mm size, it may be best to NOT wear a 42 mm prior. It will bias your decision.
After a while, one will get used to a variety of sizes for different watches.
This is especially true for folks like you they have a 7” wrist. Medium sized and you can wear smaller as well as bigger watches.
For some they have smaller wrists, a watch that it too big for them, with lugs protruding is a no no IMHO.
Also wrist girth alone is not enough… wrist shape is another factor. Not everyone has a flat wrist top. Some have more rounded wrists and though big in girth, may not have the flat “platform” of the wrist to suppprt larger case sizes watches.
Finally, some wear watches closer to their hand 🖐️ vs others they were close to their forearm. Again, this affect how a watch will look.
