That's quite a lot of alcohol !

 

Reminds me of some californian cabernets  but the trend towards a lower alcohol level seems to be more prevalent now,even there.
Must have been a hot summer!
Never had it but can imagine the ripe fruit in the wine----was it a bit flabby as i expect the acidity to be a trite low .Balance?
 
I've had tasted a 16%  wine---Zind humbrecht Pinot gris,  non vendage tardive,but that was from a freak hot vintage which i bought to try, out of curiosity---a bit cloying and heavy as is the Zind style,but not botyrised.
What to do about hot vintages!
Anyhow,you seem to enjoy the experience and that's what counts.
