I must admit bit I think this is my first 16% alc by volume. I was looking through the cellar and as i have double deep racks i found nine bottles of this 03 Shiraz 9 so i figured why not. I gave it a taste and for me it was big bold and boy could i ferl ...  

....Mollydooker from Oz that is up at that level, if not even more. I find its great on the approach, but as that alocohol level burns in, it just kills my taste buds.

Garnacha 15% all good ... but 16% Shiraz would be a bit much ... verging on unsweetened desert wine territory

Reminds me of some californian cabernets but the trend towards a lower alcohol level seems to be more prevalent now,even there. Must have been a hot summer! Never had it but can imagine the ripe fruit in the wine----was it a bit flabby as i expect the aci... 

sounds familiar------i mean down the gullet, not the sink! As you suggested,have a PARTY!! LOL!

16% does sound a tad high, I'd imagine you wouldn't want to let it age too long.

Might need a few guests too!
