A little more about Chelan

It's an interesting town to walk around, with history going back over 100 years for this theatre.
and this log-cabin style church.
This is the top half of an original steamer called Lady of the Lake, which ran up and down the lake a century ago. There's still a ferry running daily, but it's a modern craft.
Many people come in summer to enjoy the lake, but there are also winter visitors. I believe this is where my mother bought a place just after I moved to California for university studies.
This is a real duck in the real lake, no filters or painting:
From Wenatchee, you drive up the left bank of the Columbia River, towards the top right of this photo which was taken at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia Rivers.
Thanks to all the hydroelectric dams on the river, the average electrical rate in Wenatchee is less than 3 cents per kilowatt hour (about 10% of what we pay in SoCal).
Here's a look from the air. The airport is in the distance at top right. Wenatchee is on both sides of the river at the middle right side of the photo.
I think I'll do another post in TimeOut of the sights we spotted around the town.
