Your thoughts are really appreciated.

I visited the workshop of Dufour in 2007 and also enjoyed dinner with him and a group of collectors. He is a very charismatic and charming person. However, I left a little disappointed, after experiencing the Simplicity. The Duality I saw as well, and it was much more impressive. I have seen pictures of his Grande Sonnerie - it looks spectacular.
I think of the Simplicity as a piece that had  an important and meaningful concept that shifted focus from the (overly) complicated pieces to the extremely well done and simple. Besides it is very wearable amd nice looking.  Perhaps the simplicity was the watch that facilitated this shift of interest by many collectors? (In this sense I consider it very important)  However, the architecture of the movement is very traditional, without any innovation as you say. The case, the dial, hands seem more like good and solid work - but not extraordinary.

I would love to own one, BUT I think the Simplicity has been absolutely overhyped, when I see how much it goes for - and perhaps  - so has the his status as a watch maker. At least in my eyes. I can name more than a handful of watchmakers I would place higher.
