Portraits of my Tourby before...

it goes to the safe smile. I've decided not to part way with it but to keep it in my bank safe and buy another watch to 'replace' it . This may reduce my wearing pressure/pleasure but also highly reduce my insurance cost.

What a beauty

Let's make a deal....

 By: blau : December 3rd, 2019-07:56
Instead of putting it away, send it to me! I'll wear it, take good care of it, and cover the insurance costs until you want it back.

Send me your address...

Such great and beautiful watches needs to be worn on the wrist imho

It has served me very well and now it is time to rest. It gives me a chance to buy new watch too

Any reason to buy a new watch is great ๐Ÿ˜‰

 By: Watchonthewrists : December 3rd, 2019-13:00
But still i hope you will give this amazing watch some love from time to time ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿค—

If I keep this Journe in the safe,

I will need another watch to ease the itching. Good thing is I will have an extra watch.

you are right my friend, but...

better than letting it go, is to give it some time.... you can read CLs thought here I guess we can alll relate, somehow, to these kind of thoughts

Dear CL

 By: ChristianDK : December 3rd, 2019-09:14
Look at that first picture! It is DIVINE! seriously!!! as good as it can get. Few watches reach this level! I think this is a great decision!!! There is no rush . Now you have time to think about it and should you decide to let it go - them it will be wor...

You have helped me think wisely...

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-09:49
I probably will get a new Rehexpi when he announce.

That is a great idea ๐Ÿ’ก ๐Ÿ‘Œ

 By: ChristianDK : December 3rd, 2019-12:05
Iโ€™m interested in how you see it compared with the Simplicity. We will have to wait a bit still. What are your impressions comparing the CC with Simplicity?

I have never seen the CC in metal yet...

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-13:07
but based on the photo and the various trusted reviews, I think I will like it. It is well priced and has some sort of relationship with FP Journe. As for Simplicity, it is now more of a hype. Other than an excellent finishing, nothing much is original fr...

Your thoughts are really appreciated.

I visited the workshop of Dufour in 2007 and also enjoyed dinner with him and a group of collectors. He is a very charismatic and charming person. However, I left a little disappointed, after experiencing the Simplicity. The Duality I saw as well, and it ...

If you dig further...

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-13:58
you will figure out what is Simplicity movement. And if bother to learn more about Duality, you will know where it comes from too. Dial is outsourced. Chopard has a watch that is very similar and from same manufacturer. When Simplicity just came out, it i...

The movement is..

 By: ChristianDK : December 3rd, 2019-14:17
JLC, as far a as I remember? Absolutely true that the price was fair. My only problem was that I missed the train. You are so right - we are the ones that makes the price ridiculous - and we only complain when we donโ€™t own the piece.. LOL ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am curious a...

It was inspired by a school watch

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-14:31
from Vallee de Joux watch school. Next time when you have a chance to inspect a Simplicity in metal, try use a loupe and check the movement extremely closely and also check the dial too. It is no doubt beautiful but definitely from a human

Also, there are more than 200 Simplicities.

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-14:40
It is not exactly a rare piece if you compare it to Journe's Souscription (20 pieces) and Journe's First generation/first series tourbillon (16 or 17 pieces). From my understanding, It seems rare because majority of Simplicities were bought by the Japanes...

interesting about the japanese market....

 By: ChristianDK : December 3rd, 2019-14:47
I didnt know this. I knew he made some extra for Singapore?

I believe Dufour first made his name in Japan.

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-14:59
He had made some for Singaporean but that's not a lot. The additional batch outside the 200 was for some Chinese. It is good that we have Dufour around in our time. So is great to have FP Journe, Roger Smith, Kari and Vianney. I think the URWERK team is v...

aha - interesting

 By: ChristianDK : December 3rd, 2019-14:45
I like the human touch his finish has. But, it is like jazz - it has to swing (I hope im make sense now!?) If I remember correctly, you owned the Eichi II as well. (I am still thinking about it...) I believe the finishing was consulted by P.D. - did this ...

Eichi 2 is more insane...

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-14:56
The finishing on the plate is just straight lines, nothing decorative. So, any mistake will be super evident. To me, Eichi 2 takes this finishing act to a new insane level. They truly want to show the world their skill and they succeed in it. When I menti...

I really need to look in to the Eichi II

 By: ChristianDK : December 4th, 2019-12:18
You let yours go, though. What Iis the downside? Iโ€™m wondering how I would feel about the movement technology. No battery - but can I LOVE it? The dial is stunning in pictures. Ps. We need to add, Derek Pratt to the list of the giants.

I let go mine...

 By: CL : December 4th, 2019-15:24
not because the watch was bad. It was great but not better than my Journe tourbillon. It was a time I was going through some nightmarish financial woe. You won't want to go through what I had gone through. I am ok now, somehow. I still think Eich 2 is a g...

Okay ...

 By: ChristianDK : December 4th, 2019-20:36
Now you have me even more tempted. I think are right about size. That would be a sweet spot for such a simple layout. I understand about financial woe. Luckily it is some years back. (Financial crisis.) I was living through a nightmare for a couple of yea...

Unfortunately Micro Artist Studio...

 By: CL : December 4th, 2019-21:02
only do Spring Drive. If not, a regular shape 38mm Grand Seiko by Micro Artist Studio will be my grail piece

In a way it is quite cool they insist on using spring drive

 By: ChristianDK : December 4th, 2019-21:41
Itโ€™s their speciality and they have proof that it is superior to a conventional movement. I just keep bumps in to the question if I am too conservative?!

It really depends on

 By: CL : December 5th, 2019-06:54
how you want to curate your collection. Spring Drive is also a true representation of horology progress, not just any cosmetic one but a serious effort to improve time keeping accuracy. Eichi 2 is as accurate as my smart phone, most of the time when I str...

The quality is undisputed

 By: ChristianDK : December 5th, 2019-09:44
You are really tempting me with your statement, CL. Your opinion really matter. I am seriously fascinated with this piece!

I will not push for any watch that

 By: CL : December 5th, 2019-14:28
I don't full heartedly believe in. If you can get one in the price range that I mentioned above, you are very safe. I'm sure you are familiar with Micro Artist Studio and how small a set up they are. With all the new watches coming out from there. they ca...

Funny you mention that...

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-13:08
I did have arrangement with my neighbor for 5years payment plan for some of my watches. Two of them have shot up the roof in prices and I still get my miserable monthly payment from him and sometimes, he is late by 2 months...haha

You sound like a dream neighbor!

Him, not so much๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

He said the same thing to me :P

 By: CL : December 3rd, 2019-13:59
I feel proud that I am the one that started his watch collection. He has very good collection now

We should meet up one day.

I believe you are in NYC too
