My association with FPJ are always like my thoughts of a Lange 1815:
a watch that could easily be worn by a character in a western movie.
For instance worn by a head of a rail company, or from a big landlord.
Both watches would fit perfectly to that era of 1845, if wrist watches were made at that time.
Lovely watch!

This old beauty is just back from its first service ever. I am over the moon with joy. Opening the package a few moments ago, I was struck with just how beautiful I think this watch is. A perfect service job by Christophe who is the watch maker at FPJ Par...

Do you know how many of the Boutiques have watchmakersοΌIn some respects Paris seems like a less logical choice given the proximity to Geneva, compared to NY or HK for example.
I dont know,Jay. But it is a very good question.
By: ChristianDK : October 22nd, 2019-04:24
I will try to find out. the service department in Geneva is no more than a handful of watchmakers. I think it could be a question of finding a watchmaker of the right quality. Christophe had many years experience with Patek before moving to Journe Paris. ...

They can service everything except chiming watches, Optimum, and I believe the Resonance. The most problematic of all services is the Optimum, since FP wants it to be close to him due tho the complexity of the escapement.
Thank you, Osama

I know Paris can do the Resonance but not chiming watches as you say. I also heard the QP takes a lot of skill.

I especially see what you are saying in the early pieces. Some people also see a bit of steam punk in these early pieces. Especially the ones that have patinated a lot. The case is still untouched. I am very particular about that.
Beautiful dial!
By: TJG : October 22nd, 2019-06:47
I can't tell if that is rose or yellow from this angle. I had a similar one and the dial was like a brownish yellow. Beautiful but transitional period.
Thank you π
By: ChristianDK : October 22nd, 2019-07:44
It is rose but I think your description of brownish yellow is not far off. It can sometimes be difficult to tell.
Thank you, my friend.
