On the example you show above, I think it works against the expanse of gray on the dial. For your Tricolore CS, I'm not as convinced. I think the bright white begs for a more contrasting strap, and the midnight blue will work well in that regard, while also mirroring the blued hands and tying in with the red elements via the stitching.
What do I know? 
Follow your joy, my friend. If the tan calls to you, do it! I will enjoy it, as long as you do!

I have the 40 mm in platium with the silver dial which i love but this one really pops . a classic beauty a dressey and sporty watch all in one enjoy. You are starting the addiction out right . Wear in excellent health congrats.

Glad you enjoyed it , my understanding is that they did the following watch aswell for SFT and the CS Tricolore and this watch were sold as a set, there was also an FPJ wall clock offered as part of the set but I haven't seen a pic of it yet unless someon...

I love the dial and packaging too. Journe and Bell & Ross have that elongated display box design which I like as its different from the norm. Awesome choice...may it bring much joy!
