F.P. Journe

First off, thanks to Christian for keeping our little Journe storyboard going strong and free from conflict. This entire platform is, save for one of two little scuffles, generally free of conflict and focused on the commonality rather than the difference...  

And with one of the most memorable strap combinations on the net 🙌🏻👏🏻👍🏻

I think it’s been on this strap for at least a decade. The other custom strap I ordered for it at that time remains untouched (it was a Hermes orange ostrich). But I don’t think anything works as well on this watch for me than this camo.

All good though with the brown camo 🙂

These days there are definitely more than just you and I that think this. Which was long overdue.

So that was my current “travel watch”, the C6. This was the Christmas Day wrist shot, on a cold North Atlantic beach. ...  

But I can see how it could be that. Although, I don’t think it made his “shortlist” of 50+ watches he needs to add to his collection in 2026 ! 😂

As for the strap 🤯🤯🤯

Another element of this watch that is so so good is the case size. It’s just perfect for me, and works well on larger wrists too.

Both this variant and the one with running seconds are the coolest watches FPJ makes. I hope more brands try to pull of the "digital" clock like ALS and FPJ. It's a very fun complication, especially when you can see the guts moving!

And that goes back to I guess 2012 or so. Alas, it has never happened for me despite other Lange experiments on my side. The Vagabondage is a far more elegant watch however. That said, I think the ZW is so much more powerful in terms of the visual, not ju...

I don’t know anything about this reference—agreed the camo strap works, but would love to see the Hermes—and, this watch is certainly a testament to your refined and eclectic — maybe undefinable — taste in watches! HNY, Jay. Hoping our paths cross in NYC ... 

Your deep knowledge, your amazing collection of some special Journe watches…you articulate so well your personal thoughts, your evolution as a a collector and both good and less good findings and that makes it so interesting to follow your posts. Thanks, ... 

But also I think we have seen a broader adoption of coloured metal cases in everyday situations. There has been a big shift in the style trends too, which means we have seen more and more red and yellow (yellow having made a real comeback in recent years)...
