Beautiful watch. And to offer some comfort: we all suffer from that same mad disease you mentioned. It’s interesting to see such a brand using quartz in a model like this.

And a million 'you are most welcome' to you! It was nice to see FPJ venturing into the non mechanical segment but in typical FPJ style, it is quite unique as the watch stops when not used but adjusts itself to the correct time when moved again! Very cleve... 

Almost like that complication on the Hermès Temps Suspendu although Hermès had a different, more romantic, purpose for this complication in mind. Haha

I always wonder to myself if anyone owning that Hermes ever used it for that purpose!!

It must be an intense experience to get your first F.P. Journe. Quartz is not that bad. I have also a quartz watch on my list, but it not a hurry up watch. It is not a money related choice, but a watch love related choice. I want a Longines Conquest V.H.P... 

Your wrist can get away with an Octa Sport. I tried years ago but failed. Thanks for your reply and all the best with the VHP, one of the best quartz watches out there. Have you ever considered a Grand Seiko?! They apparently make superb quartz watches wh... 

I never tried a GS. i have a Seiko, but that is no GS. About F.P. Journe. It depends on which is first to my collection, a F.P. Journe or an Ulysse Nardin? Honestly, Ulysse Nardin is affordable for me. ...  

But you should really try a Grand Seiko one day as they make superb watches. As for the Ulysse Nardin v FP Journe, my advice would be buy the watch that you like more rather than which is more affordable. Sometimes, it is worth saving up and waiting a lit...

I would not normally consider a non mechanical piece but I love the dial and case shape. The special movement is a bonus!

Seems like you are on a roll lately! The 40mm elegante is really really nice for small wrist, so I'd say great choice (as was the 7234a). In fact, in the current Journe lineup of 40mm+ diameter watches, I don't think there's any better choice than that.

Yes I would have considered a 38mm Journe when they were still available and I find it quite remarkable that they had sold very few 38mm watches when they were being produced hence their discontinuation.

I saw your strap at the boutique and I was not brave enough to buy it!! So being old and conservative, I went for a dark blue strap that matches the colour of the hands! But your strap is very striking!

When one says one is on a roll, it is normally when one is winning at a casino! This roll that I am on must stop but yet I am contemplating dropping by at Basel which can only spell danger!!

I think the size is perfect on your wrist. Good thing you didn’t go smaller, judging from your wrist shot. I wouldn’t have guessed you where interested in this one, although I know you have great taste in watches. However, I’m sure this will fit in great,... 

I must confess I have a weakness for torneau shaped watches. The fact that the Elegante is the most affordable Journe and the one I happen to like the most is most convenient!

It must be the most difficult quartz watch to source as there is no FPJ AD in Malaysia and most of the Elegantes sold at the London AD have diamonds on them.

Another winner. I am a big admirer of FPJ as well and personally I think this watch offers something very different to any other high end watch. The usability, innovation as well as FPJ characteristics make this a fantastic watch for me. Enjoy!

I aim to enjoy this watch often especially the rubber strap is great for a humid tropical country like Malaysia.

I must confess O never actually thought of getting another strap (unlike a mutual friend of ours) as I like the dark blue strap more than any other on offer. I am a boring creature of habit!!
