Just wondering if anyone know if this is one of the mysterious prototypes? It doesn't say in the description but it seems a bit crazy that it's going for USD130k as I type with 2+ days left to go. Or is it because it's dial? Do we have an estimated # of RDM with brass movement in yellow/salmon/grey dials? If it is due to the dial are there particular reasons why yellow seems to be THAT much special?
Just scratching my head here and hope I would get some enlightenment. Thanks in advance!

We are also unaware of any yellow gold dials with a rose gold case, and have only come across a small handful of watches with a rose gold dial in a platinum case (which should not be confused with oxidised yellow gold dials which appear rose). So, what gives? Thought previously most expensive RDMs were at high 40k's. This seems to be quite a sudden departure from that level.

I’m not an expert on these pieces but this result does indeed seem extremely strong...perhaps because of rarity of the model (they say only 120 in this version)...
..plus the change in color due to patina, if we follow the official description? Still, it seems hard to justify how patina can essentially triple the value of a watch, no matter how unique it looks because of it...😉 Let’s see if someone knowledgeable wit...

I’m generally reluctant to pay when it hits 6 digits — not in this climate. Maybe I’m wrong and I have to think of these Journes like tech stocks. But it will take me a long while to accept what the new reality is. For now I’m just happy to own my Chronom...

Glad I got my two when I did. I would be totally priced out now. And I only bought both of them in March/April. So much for COVID bringing hot models back to earth (not that I expected them to to be honest).

I bought mine in October last year. And the meteoric rise in price over the short span of time defies logic. COVID-19 in some aspects made some of the rich even richer and the poor even poorer. It’s a tough reality.

I personally don't see it as a norm. This is just an early RDM, nothing else (it seems so far, still). If even this can fetch a 6 digit sum, what does it imply for other models. It just does not make sense for all other FPJs to also trade at 6 digits. And...

Just one of those things in life where everything is aligned for the seller to get this lucky and see a surprise sale. I bet if I tried to sell my RDM it'll get all kinds of low ball offers instead lol Such is life.
