NOT so much luck in NYC
Not sure what the situation is in Miami or Los Angeles but kind of crappy news about the New York Boutique. (Certainly hope things are better in Paris 👍)
A really good friend of mine who is a serious watch collector and I have known him for over 20 years, wanted to set up his FIRST visit to the NYC FP Boutique, in about mid to second part of December, because that's when he will be traveling there for business.
He called last week, (so basically about a month in advance)... and was told that they are booked out for the "first time visitors" until March!
I was not sure if I should laugh or cry ....but if true... this is pretty sad, ridiculous and embarrassing at the same time, IMO.
Paris boutique visit -
Will be in Paris in a couple of weeks and wanted to visit the boutique. Any special thoughts or just simply email the boutique for an appointment request? Appreciate your thoughts!
I think an email to the boutique to ask for an appointment is a very good idea and appreciated by the staff
They get so many visits every day, it’s hard for them to keep up.
Indeed call ahead breguet is warm and friendly
JLC has some seriously knowledgeable folks. VC was good Patek was oddly cold when I visited - wasn't wearing one of their watches I guess

Japan literally impossible. Watch enthusiasts are using boutiques as tourist destinations. The problem is the sheer number of people. I was in the Geneva boutique recently. Before lunch they had had more than 50 people coming in. Afternoon probably worse....
Exactly this point. They cannot have 10 or more staff
and then people complain when the red carpet is not rolled out for them.
Wow, started to see this overcrowding/overbooking several years ago
and as a result my last two pieces have been pre-loved.
