My two cents

Firstly, the CB is a unique and original design, doesn’t quote or rehash any previous design. It pre dates color trends and other fads.

Secondly, more than being a hot and trendy watch - which only happened much later - it is an intrinsically well thought through and wonderfully executed watch. Rarely used case material, gold movement and well put together.

Thirdly, it (originally) appealed to people who didn’t want to go with the flow, who didn’t want the me-too 5711 or 15202. Not many people know about the CB and relatively speaking it’s still an insider watch.

On that basis, I bought my CB a few years ago. It is my only FPJ and it’s part of a broader eclectic collection that includes models and brands that may not have mass appeal, but appeal to me.
