Day 32 of a 33 day streak on the road with the CTS. And my final coffee in my favourite city in the world. (If you look closely you can see the reflection of some cherry blossoms on the crystal).
I’ve not worn one single watch consistently for this amount of time in about 20 years, and that was my ever reliable bomb proof Sea-Dweller.
Well, as some of you know the adventure wasn’t without incident. About 10 days into my trip my CTS suddenly stopped. I had wound it in the morning and perhaps 4 hours later it just stopped.
Long story short it started working again on the 6th day of me wearing the non functioning watch, and it has been fine since.
A couple of folk’s suggested that it could have been magnetized. Perhaps this was the case, I was just unaware that magnetism could stop the watch (versus impacting the timing).
Interestingly some others also shared similar (one-off) experiences with their Centigraphe. A stopped watch and then later fully functional again.
What’s funny is that I really went back and forth about taking a Rolex on this trip instead, and of course when the issue occurred I mumbled to myself “I knew I should have taken the f’n Rolex” !
