Jay (Eire)'s 'Francois Paul Friday' post highlights the F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance (CTS) as a personal favorite, sparking a community-wide sharing of wristwear. This thread underscores the unique appeal of lightweight watches and the enduring connection collectors have with their timepieces, often transcending initial impressions. It's a testament to how a watch's on-wrist feel can profoundly influence a collector's appreciation and future acquisitions.

The F.P. Journe Centigraphe Souverain represents the brand s approach to chronograph complications within the Souverain collection. This reference features the specialized caliber 1506 movement and carries the distinctive Centigraphe designation, positioning it as F.P. Journe s chronograph offering in their manual-winding lineup.
The 40mm case is crafted from 18k rose gold and fitted with a sapphire crystal. The silver dial provides the backdrop for the chronograph functions. The manual-winding caliber 1506 movement delivers an 80-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 30 meters, and the watch is completed with a leather strap. The fixed bezel maintains clean proportions around the case perimeter.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking F.P. Journe s interpretation of chronograph mechanics in precious metal construction. Production began in 2007, establishing this as part of the contemporary F.P. Journe catalog. The Centigraphe attracts those interested in independent watchmaking combined with traditional manual-winding chronograph complications, offering substantial power reserve within the 40mm rose gold case format.
Tonda PF Chronograph for me.
Here’s what I’m wearing today: This is CS from a few days ago:
Have a great FP Friday everyone ❤️
I remember the first time I put the original aluminum version on the wrist. I didn’t like the watch so much from the pictures, but once on the wrist I was smitten. On the back of the CTS and its lightness I’ve bought another similarly featherweight watch on a bracelet and have another very light watch on order. Re your wrist choice today, I went back and forth on the 5205 when they were first released. And was very close to purchasing one at one point.
The CO will forever remain timeless though. I like how it looks on that strap, it’s definitely showing it’s casual Friday best !
But in reality FP should be in that conversation. From case materials to movements he’s really pushed the envelope. You know me… I love all things FPJ - just to various degrees. It’s really an ingenious brand.
