I don’t know!

I have attempted to respond to this post several times only to delete or revise my advice / answer.
What that tells me is that I’m not sure! I don’t know what is the right answer.
Certainly you are getting a more complicated watch. Certainly you are getting a more rare watch. Certainly, assume the dial is what we think it is, you are getting a watch which was central to the brands development. Subjectively I believe you are getting a more collectible watch. Subjectively I also believe you are getting a more interesting watch (and objectively you get a more complicated watch).
BUT, the CB is just one of those watches. It doesn’t matter that there may be a 1000 of them out there and so they are not exactly rare or collectible (relatively). It’s just a great watch and one that’s not easily replaced at your current cost basis.
I think, as others have mentioned, the dial for the Calendrier is very important in determining its appeal. How has it aged? Does it have spotting / oxidation? And then the movement, was this one of those lemons we keep hearing about or has it been fully functional. And what about box and papers?
It’s got to be all perfect (or close to it) before you let that CB go. This decision might need more than one sleep!!!
