I agree - with the right dial, I would probably do it as well.
What is your impressions with the issues of the Calendrier. Have they been ironed out. I have a RDM that had issues with the date as it was one of the first pieces. This was fixed automatically and free of cost, during regular maintenance. Would it be the same if one bought a Calendrier and it has issues?

This is so subjective, but personally I would seriously consider it - I love the dial layout and typical FPJ accents and chapter rings. The CB is a hotter watch in high demand which is why
values are comparable now - more so than a few years ago.. Good luck with your decision.

What he would be getting is highly attractive and an important watch. But letting the CB go - I’m not sure I can recommend.
IF the Calendrier is working as it should... then YES if you love the dial and it makes you smile more :)
I'd personally do this swap very easily. I own both pieces and various versions of the Calendrier and it's a magnificent dial, especially with retrograde date. The CB is amazing too, but I'd choose the extra complication that the Calendrier offers, but ON...

OC Issues can easily be fixed in a service
I have had an early brass OC with a date issue in the past with it skipping days/months etc, and this was easily fixed during a service like your RDM. Since the service it's had no further issues, and if an error had again occurred it would have been fixe...

Great question! Firstly, I own a CB and love it for many reasons. As others have stated, the OC is one of the signature Journe pieces and help establish the brand. Further, the brass movements, as you know, are more sought after.

i'll keep the Chronometre Bleu....it is a very versatile watch & still classy.
i'm personally tilted towards manually wound movements & unless the 'calendar' function is very useful & must for you - stay with CB. there are not too many offers today that can match CB... Best, mahesh.,
