I Think the text was always used by FPJ as a modern aesthetic element just like you see on Rolex dial. Sometimes 4 lines of text. Sometimes two. Even within the same model. Greubel F. Also use (a lot) of text as a decorative element. It’s something that divides. Some like it and others are bothered.

Purely some of the aesthetics. The black, white and red accents. The subdial and the power reserve indicator. The font of the numerals. Very different watches

The original version looks so, so nice!
I spent time with this at a former FPJ authorized dealer several years ago. The gold dial was really nice, much more appealing than the black dial IMHO. Definitely an unusual Journe given its relative case thickness.
+ 1 on the gold dial…... I think the thickness bothers a good part of the typical Journe collectors.
It seems massive at 13,6 mm thickness and 42 mm case. Of course this is nothing unusual if we look at other brands but with FPJ you kind of expect a thin watch …….even if it is a with a high complication. I think it sits well but i just LOVE the feeling o...
This is just an INSANE watch.
And only JOURNE can make something so technical and complex so beautiful from a design perspective. Just amazing.
