Couldn t agree more

I totally agree john,yeah sure Pt is amazing and incredible and all the beautiful storical references and the feel of it and more and more...I m a big fan too.But for sure it does not justify the incredible difference between gold and pt that almost all luxury brands apply.Now lets face it, the movements are the same and the case is not a safety box but just a little watch case.As much as its difficult to work is it really 10 12 14000 euros more expensive?A well known brand just released a watch I really like in ss and pt ,well the difference between the 2 versions is 24000 english pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So???One thing is clear :like any luxury item the price is a mix of quality craftmanship and a huge dose of marketing(i think of shoes ,leather goods,clothing etc etc).So the pt version of a watch is at the top and if you want the top item you just pay for it.It s the vanity in all of us and the ambition to own the best in that category.Is it justified??Certainly not ,but thats the price of exclusivity.FPJ most expensive watch is in SS!!!!!!This is the clear demonstration in my opinion.All the best,Mo.

but I prefer rose Journes. The problem or I should say the great thing about journe is he does not charge a ton more for Platinum over rose gold so platinum journes are good values if there is such a thing in luxury watches LOL.

Given that Platinum and Gold prices are roughly the same nowadays, it seems the premium for Platinum watches is a bit of a scam....??? Factor in the different tooling machinery costs required for platinum casing blah blah but it still doesn't compute....
