I totally agree john,yeah sure Pt is amazing and incredible and all the beautiful storical references and the feel of it and more and more...I m a big fan too.But for sure it does not justify the incredible difference between gold and pt that almost all luxury brands apply.Now lets face it, the movements are the same and the case is not a safety box but just a little watch case.As much as its difficult to work is it really 10 12 14000 euros more expensive?A well known brand just released a watch I really like in ss and pt ,well the difference between the 2 versions is 24000 english pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So???One thing is clear :like any luxury item the price is a mix of quality craftmanship and a huge dose of marketing(i think of shoes ,leather goods,clothing etc etc).So the pt version of a watch is at the top and if you want the top item you just pay for it.It s the vanity in all of us and the ambition to own the best in that category.Is it justified??Certainly not ,but thats the price of exclusivity.FPJ most expensive watch is in SS!!!!!!This is the clear demonstration in my opinion.All the best,Mo.

have been looking at "simple" watches lately to wear on holiday.. something new and exciting and i have been looking primarily at Patek/Vach/JLC but have now gazed over at Journe specifically the CS..
i like the Rose, but everyone i know that owns journe tells me "go for the platinum"
curious as to what the Journe people on PP will reccomend... the AD also has the reserve de march, but the automatic nature of the piece just doesnt seem right especially for a piece w/ extended reserve..
curious to see if the answers on here reflect platinum like the journe fanatics i know.. or if they lean towards rose for the warmth of the metal.

yeah i remember reading an article
about how he said we are in the business of selling watches, not selling watch cases.. i like his choice of only making the two metals.. yellow gold would be hideous ;-)

Given that Platinum and Gold prices are roughly the same nowadays, it seems the premium for Platinum watches is a bit of a scam....???

That is officially the most expensive SS watch in the world btw...

Rose Gold
When the CS first was launched I placed an order with my AD for the platinum version. One afternoon I stopped in to find that they had received a RG version. As soon as I put it on my wrist my mind was changed. The RG CS was stunning. Originally with a black strap (more formal looking) I've sinced changed to a brown strap like yours. Congratulations on a great purchase. Impulse or not you made the right decision.
